Civic Responsibility and Strategic Shift to Peaceful Sit-In
On the afternoon of July 21, 2026, the protest ground at Jantar Mantar witnessed an exemplary display of civic responsibility as hundreds of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) volunteers initiated a comprehensive sanitation and cleanup drive across the street.
Equipped with brooms, trash bags, and gloves, student volunteers spent hours clearing plastic bottles, leftover food wrappers, discarded placards, and tear gas shell fragments resulting from Monday's confrontation.
Strategic Pausing of Street Marches
During a press briefing held at the cleaned site at 1:30 PM, founder Abhijeet Dipke announced a strategic shift in the movement’s tactical approach:
- Pause on Street Marches: Direct street marches toward Parliament House are temporarily paused to safeguard student aspirants from police lathi-charges and tear gas exposure.
- Indefinite Sit-In Retained: The stationary, peaceful assembly at Jantar Mantar will continue 24/7 without interruption.
- Focus on Decentralized Advocacy: Mobilization will pivot toward regional solidarity hubs, digital advocacy, and institutional dialogue.
"We refuse to play into provocations that put our young students in physical danger," Dipke explained. "Jantar Mantar is our democratic anchor. We will sit here cleanly, peacefully, and resolutely until our voice is heard in the halls of power."
