The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has issued a stern warning of fresh nationwide protests, alleging that the Centre is citing a Supreme Court interim order to backtrack on its July 25 assurances regarding the withdrawal of FIRs against peaceful demonstrators.
The Core Dispute
Spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka stated that during the third round of talks, the government had agreed to withdraw all FIRs against protesters and organisers across the country and ensure no new cases would be filed. A draft agreement was submitted, with a written commitment expected by Tuesday.
"They are now using that order and wanting to go back on the guarantees that they gave to the youth of this country. If the government does not honour its word and the agreements, we will be forced to again call for a big protest, not just in Delhi but nationwide," Das said.
Solidarity Across States
CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Rana (from Jaipur) called it "a matter of shame" that a Union minister's word lacks value. Demands include:
- Immediate withdrawal of all FIRs
- Release of detained students
- Written assurance against future punitive action
Delhi Police has been put on heightened alert amid these developments.
Context of the Movement
This follows the end of the 36-37 day Jantar Mantar agitation and Sonam Wangchuk's 26-day hunger strike, after which CJP claimed key victories including the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and commitments on exam reforms and compensation for families of suicide victims.
The movement, born from Gen-Z outrage over NEET paper leaks and systemic education failures, continues to demand accountability.
