Breaking from the Frontlines
27 July 2026 — Just hours after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) suspended its nationwide protest on the strength of a Government of India assurance of no punitive action against any participant, fresh reports of detentions and arrests have poured in from Assam, West Bengal and Bihar.
Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das issued a strongly-worded statement this morning:
We are deeply concerned by multiple reports reaching us of students and other protestors being targeted, detained, or arrested by various state agencies...
The party had called off the agitation only after the Centre promised that no coercive measures would be taken — now or in the future — in any BJP or NDA-ruled state. Those reports, therefore, constitute a direct challenge to that word.
What CJP Is Demanding
- Immediate release of all detainees and arrestees — latest by tomorrow, Tuesday 28 July 2026.
- Withdrawal of all FIRs registered against peaceful protestors.
- Written guarantee from the Government of India, as already promised, confirming that no retaliatory action will be taken anywhere in the country.
Das specifically tagged Union Minister J.P. Nadda and Dr Jitendra Singh, reminding them that credibility is earned by honouring promises, not merely making them.
Any departure from that assurance would not merely amount to a breach of trust with the Cockroach Janta Party but would also be a breach of public trust with lakhs of young Indians who chose dialogue over protests.
Legal Support Already Rolling
CJP’s legal team is already coordinating with lawyers on the ground in the affected states to secure releases. “This has been happening from Day 1,” the statement emphasises.
Message to the Youth
Hold on. We are with you.
The CJP continues to monitor the situation closely and has made it clear that failure to comply will force “further necessary steps.”
The ball is now firmly in the Centre’s court. The written guarantee is due tomorrow. The youth are watching.
