High-Level Dialogue Initiated Amid Street Protests
In a significant diplomatic turn during the July 20 demonstrations, a two-member executive delegation of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was granted an official audience with Union Minister J.P. Nadda inside the Parliament House complex.
The delegation comprised political researcher Saurav Das and student rights advocate Ashutosh Ranka.
Submission of the Charter of Demands
The meeting, which lasted approximately 35 minutes in a formal environment, focused on the immediate systemic crisis created by the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak scandals. The delegation presented a binding 4-point memorandum:
- Ministerial Accountability: Formal resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
- Dissolution of NTA: Scraping the centralized National Testing Agency and instituting a decentralized, state-assisted examination body.
- Judicial Re-examination: SC-monitored re-examination options for all affected candidates without financial penalty.
- Safeguards for Protesters: Immediate drop of all police charges against peaceful student demonstrators.
Outcome and CJP Response
Following the meeting, delegation spokesperson Saurav Das addressed reporters outside Transport Bhawan:
"Minister J.P. Nadda listened to our grievances in a cordial atmosphere and assured us that our charter would be forwarded to the Cabinet Committee on Social Justice and Education. However, talk without action is meaningless. Until concrete executive notifications are signed, our peaceful sit-in at Jantar Mantar will continue unabated."
