CJP Strategy Session Locks In Grassroots Push
In a nearly seven-hour core committee meeting held at founder Abhijeet Dipke's residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on August 5, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders finalised plans to expand as a nationwide student-led pressure group.
Key attendees included spokesperson Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and other core members who coordinated the successful Jantar Mantar agitation that forced the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
No Electoral Ambitions — Yet
"As of now, we have no plans to form a political party," Dipke reiterated. The focus remains on building a national network of student organisations that retain their individual identities while coordinating on education reforms, exam transparency, unemployment and accountability.
Saurav Das told reporters the group will announce concrete strategy details on August 6 after further deliberations: "When we come up with something concrete on August 6th, we will inform everyone on our future strategy."
Support for Ongoing Struggles
The meeting resolved to stand with students agitating in states like Jharkhand and to deepen district-level cadres. A nationwide listening tour is also in the works to consult Gen Z on the agenda.
Mentor Continuity & FIR Demands
Sonam Wangchuk continues as mentor. Parallelly, CJP is pressing Centre and NDA states to fully honour July 25 commitments on FIR withdrawals (barring heinous offences, as clarified by SC) and release of remaining detainees.
