Bengaluru Joins the National Clamour for Accountability

Student collectives, climate advocates, and regional volunteers representing the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Karnataka unit convened in large numbers to register their protest in solidarity with the Jantar Mantar demonstrations in New Delhi.
The gathering was catalyzed by the dramatic escalation in the national capital on July 18, which saw police forcefully shifting educator Sonam Wangchuk to Safdarjung Hospital, and CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke launching an indefinite hunger strike followed by a blue ink attack.
Addressing the Educational Trust Deficit
The primary grievance driving the Bengaluru assembly was the systemic failure within national examination frameworks—specifically the massive NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and grace-marks controversy. Karnataka, which has several of India’s premier medical institutes, saw tens of thousands of its students directly affected by the irregularities.
"We are here to show that the student community is not isolated. Bengaluru’s students stand firmly with Delhi and Kolkata," said a volunteer from the CJP Karnataka unit. "The trust deficit in the National Testing Agency (NTA) is absolute. We demand nothing short of a complete structural overhaul of our examination boards and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan."
Peaceful Assembly Amid Heightened Surveillance
Demonstrators carried blocky, woodcut-aesthetic posters and wore black headbands in a silent, disciplined show of dissent. Bengaluru Police, who had previously declined permission for a Town Hall human chain, closely monitored the Freedom Park assembly. Organizers ensured strict compliance with local regulations, and the assembly concluded peacefully in the evening.
In solidarity with the nationwide call, Karnataka delegates confirmed that several student representatives have already boarded trains to New Delhi to participate in the scheduled "Sansad Chalo" (March to Parliament) on Monday, July 20, 2026.
